Minister of Higher Education Congratulates Egyptian Teams Winning at ACPC 2025

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, extended his congratulations to the Egyptian student teams that won top honors at the 28th edition of the Arab and African Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC 2025), held in Luxor Governorate.
The competition was organized under the auspices of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), in cooperation with the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund affiliated with the Ministry, along with a number of partner entities.
Skills Development
The Minister expressed his pride in the outstanding performance of the Egyptian teams, stressing the importance of such competitions in shaping students’ personalities, nurturing their talents, enhancing their cognitive abilities, and fostering a spirit of innovation and creativity, particularly in the fields of programming and technology.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Dr. Ashour emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to encouraging students to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship as part of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030, where innovation and entrepreneurship represent core pillars.
He also commended the significant efforts exerted by the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund in supporting students’ creative capacities across various fields that serve Egypt’s development goals.
Problem-Solving Skills
For his part, Dr. Tamer Hamouda, Executive Director of the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund, highlighted that ACPC is one of the most prominent regional and international competitions, bringing together participants from 24 Arab and African countries to develop students’ skills in problem-solving and team-based programming, and to prepare them for global competition.
Empowering Youth
He pointed out the Fund’s role in empowering youth and enhancing their technical capabilities, noting that the Fund supported 132 students from 44 teams representing 37 faculties and 27 universities.
He also outlined the achievements of the Egyptian teams supported by the Fund, with the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University winning the gold medal, the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University securing the silver medal, and teams from Menoufia University and Sohag University each earning bronze medals.
Supporting Outstanding Students
Dr. Hamouda added that the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund plans to hold a meeting with the winning student teams in the coming period to honor them in recognition of their achievements and to explore ways to continue supporting them beyond the competition.
This will include enabling their participation in the Fund’s various programs and initiatives, helping them sustain their excellence, transform their ideas and technical capabilities into competitive projects and startups, and further strengthen Egypt’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
It is worth noting that on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of ACPC 2025, the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund was honored in recognition of its prominent role in supporting the Egyptian university teams participating in the competition.
