Egypt’s telecommunications and information technology sector witnessed rapid growth in 2025, reinforcing its position as one of the main drivers of economic growth, alongside its vital role as both a service and productive sector. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) played a prominent role in supporting digital creativity and fostering the growth of startups through a wide range of initiatives outlined in its report on the achievements of the ICT sector in 2025.

Supporting Digital Creativity and Startup Development
-Expanding the network of Egypt Digital Creativity Centers “Creativa” nationwide through the establishment and operation of 7 new centers, bringing the total to 24 centers across 21 governorates. These centers aim to empower youth, innovators, and freelancers, and to support the entrepreneurship ecosystem in technology fields.

-Throughout 2025, initiatives to support technological innovation, spread the culture of entrepreneurship, and stimulate its growth through the Egypt Digital Creativity Centers nationwide included building the capacities of more than 62,000 trainees, training 14,368 young men and women in freelancing skills, and providing technical and professional support to around 7,146 entrepreneurs and 961 startups.
-These efforts resulted in the creation of approximately 1,240 job opportunities and the establishment of 132 new companies.
- In addition, funding totaling USD 47.92 million was provided to support the growth and sustainability of these companies within the ICT and entrepreneurship market.

DIGITOPIA
-Launching the first edition of the “DIGITOPIA” competition, aimed at discovering Egyptian talent in digital creativity nationwide among age groups ranging from 10 to 35 years. Participants competed to develop digital solutions that contribute to addressing societal challenges through three competition tracks: software solutions and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital games and arts.

-“DIGITOPIA” is considered the largest ICT competition in Egypt. Since its launch, it has attracted more than 25,000 innovators who formed over 6,500 teams from across the country. Winners received prizes exceeding EGP 10 million, including a grand prize of up to EGP 1 million in each track, in addition to financial and in-kind awards for other participating teams.
