The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has announced the official launch of the upgraded version of the EgyptInnovate platform, the first fully integrated national platform for innovation and entrepreneurship. The platform is being developed and operated through a consortium led by Entlaq, in partnership with Robusta and Kamelizer.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the AI Everything Middle East & Africa Summit and Exhibition, held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, with participation from representatives of more than 30 countries, alongside leading global companies, startups, technology leaders, policymakers, and investors.
A Strategic Step
The launch of the EgyptInnovate platform represents a strategic step that reflects the state’s direction toward building a knowledge- and innovation-driven economy. It establishes a unified digital hub that connects government policies with startups, investors, universities, and the research community, contributing to the development of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and enhancing Egypt’s regional and global competitiveness.
An Integrated Ecosystem
Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, stated that the launch of the upgraded EgyptInnovate platform marks a strategic milestone within the state’s efforts to build a comprehensive startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem based on data and advanced technologies as key drivers of sustainable economic growth.
He explained that the platform provides promising opportunities for both local and international startups and investors, enabling entrepreneurs to attract investments through a comprehensive database showcasing company activities, business models, and technological value propositions.
This enhances their access to funding markets and accelerates the transformation of ideas into scalable ventures, while strengthening connections among ecosystem stakeholders and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub for entrepreneurship and information technology.
Access to Knowledge and Opportunities
Elzaher added that providing specialized content in Arabic is a strategic dimension in the development of the EgyptInnovate platform, noting that enabling entrepreneurs and innovators to access knowledge and opportunities in their native language supports digital inclusion and builds local capabilities for innovation and competitiveness.
He emphasized that supporting Arabic technical and entrepreneurial content is a key pillar in strengthening the Arab digital identity and reinforcing Egypt’s role as a regional center for knowledge dissemination and innovation-driven growth.
A Consortium Model
The platform is developed and operated by a consortium representing Egypt’s entrepreneurship community, led by Entlaq, with Robusta responsible for the platform’s technological infrastructure and technical solutions, and Kamelizer handling digital marketing and corporate branding.
This consortium represents an integrated public–private partnership model that combines strategic vision, advanced technical capabilities, and innovation in digital marketing tools, ensuring the launch of a modern, scalable national platform serving all stakeholders in Egypt’s innovation ecosystem.
National Digital Infrastructure
In this context, Mohamed Ihab, CEO of Entlaq, said that the EgyptInnovate platform serves as a foundational pillar in building a national digital infrastructure that supports innovation and entrepreneurship. He noted that the platform is designed as a comprehensive hub connecting entrepreneurs with knowledge, funding, expertise, and investment opportunities.
He added that launching the platform during a major international event such as AI Everything reflects Egypt’s ability to present a fully integrated national innovation model and strengthens its presence as a regional hub for entrepreneurship and technology.
Building a Broad Digital Base
During its pilot phase, the consortium developing and operating the EgyptInnovate platform succeeded in building a broad digital base that reflects the diversity and maturity of Egypt’s innovation ecosystem. The platform currently features 780 published entities, including startups, investors, incubators, and research centers.
It also hosts 3,731 pieces of content covering sector news, opportunities, and specialized articles. The number of registered users has exceeded 81,536 entrepreneurs, innovators, and ecosystem supporters, in addition to a network of more than 20 specialized experts forming the core of an advisory community supporting entrepreneurs and innovators.
Advanced Digital Features
EgyptInnovate offers a suite of advanced data- and AI-driven digital features, positioning it as the digital backbone of Egypt’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. These include an AI-powered smart assistant that guides entrepreneurs through the ecosystem and simplifies access to services and opportunities.
The platform also provides an interactive data map with a five-star rating system that enables users to explore and analyze startups, investors, incubators, and research centers, with advanced filtering by sector, technology, and geographic location.
Digital Startup Showcase
The platform includes a digital startup showcase that allows entrepreneurs to present their products, profiles, and investment pitches, enhancing visibility and enabling direct connections with investors and strategic partners. It also offers smart matching tools between startups and investors based on data analysis, helping reduce funding gaps and accelerate investment decisions.
Integrated Learning Center
EgyptInnovate features a comprehensive learning and development center offering specialized training content, innovation tools, mentorship programs, and virtual startup-building simulations. It also includes a talent-matching platform that supports hiring, talent mobility, and talent retention within the Egyptian market.
In addition, the platform provides a media and news hub, a unified portal for national and international challenges and competitions, and an innovation marketplace connecting researchers, innovators, and patent holders with industrial and investment sectors. The platform operates under an Open Data system, allowing broad access to information and facilitating connections among investors, entrepreneurs, and support entities, creating a collaboration-friendly environment built on data and facts.
A Strong Competitive Advantage
Notably, the EgyptInnovate platform enjoys a strong competitive advantage that reinforces its position as the primary reference platform for Egypt’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. The startup and ecosystem data available on the platform adheres to the highest standards of reliability and transparency.
The platform is built on a self-verification model, whereby companies and entities add and update their own data and content under their direct responsibility, helping minimize errors and ensure that published information remains current and accurate.
