Here are the Highlights of TIEC's Incubator Program in 2019

Take a look at the infographic below to get to know the graduates of Start IT, the incubation program at The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), that received awards, raised investments or graduated from the program in 2019.

Start IT incubation program aims to support young Egyptian entrepreneurs with newly-established tech startups.

The program offers startups multiple benefits including a 180,000 EGP grant, consistent mentorship sessions covering various topics, office space and one-to-one consultancy during the one-year incubation period. Notable startup graduates of the program include Wuzzuf, Widebot, Crowd Analyzer and Shezlong. In 2019, the program graduated 21 startups.  Startups can now register for the 26th round here.

Startups that received prizes in 2019 are:

  • iMedical

- Won 3rd Place in the AXA OneHealth HealthTech Competition and won 4 trips to Europe in September
- Won 1st place in EL-Dokan E-Commerce Startup Competition and a  Voucher 12,000 $ for Software in December

  • Freeziana

- Won the 1st place at the Youth Leadership Programme - YLP from UNDP Egypt and Ministry of Youth and went to Jordan for the finals in October
- Won the first prize in the innovation arena at the 23rd edition of Cairo ICT in December

  • Electrobekia

Won the first place at the Innovation Day Menia Competition and received 10,000 EGP in October

  • Remoteplatz

Remoteplatz was the only representative from North Africa that joined the annual Anzisha Prize. They were from the 17 contestants and received a prize of $2,500 from the program in October

  • Mumm

Received a grant from Jack Ma Foundation worth $65,000. The grant was given to the 10 finalists of the foundation’s first annual Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative (ANPI) held in Accra, Ghana in November

  • Amjaad

Won third place at Riseup’s Pitch by the Pyramids and received VIP tickets to EXPO 2020 by SAP and $2000 credits on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Most importantly, Amjaad was promised a deal with Karim Beshara to install their devices in El-Gouna and ZED West.
