Here’s What You Need to Know About RiseUp Week in Upper Egypt

Next February, RiseUp will go to Upper Egypt with RiseUp week, a hackathon that will bring together entrepreneurs, programmers, designers and marketers to work on solutions for the problems of Upper Egypt. To register, click here, and to know more details, click here.

The hackathon will focus on the basic problems in the fields of education, health, agriculture, transportation, and other problems in Upper Egypt, and how to find technological solutions for them.

The hackathon will be held from 14-16 February in four governorates simultaneously, and they are, Menya, Assiut, Sohag, and Qena. Anyone can take part in the hackathon individually or as a part of a team, and the applicants must have an idea that needs developing.

Another final hackathon will be held in Assiut from 14-16 March to allow participants to develop their ideas in a competition, then the winners will be chosen, and the top three teams from each governorate will receive financial awards up to EGP 40,000.

A startup station and talks about technology will also be held during the finals hackathon. Partners with RiseUp for this event include many institutions and co-working spaces such as IEEE, Enactus, and ambassadors from the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC).
