1 year 11 months ago

It’s been a year since Google announced its connected jean jacket designed for bike commuters at Google I/O developer conference 2016. Yesterday Google revealed the final product which goes on sale tomorrow for $350. The Jacket is designed in partnership with Levi’s and it takes advantage of technology from Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group (ATAP), which involves weaving multi-touch sensors into clothing.

At Google I/O, both companies demonstrated how biker commuters will benefit from Commuter x and be able to do things like stopping and starting music, getting directions, or coming incoming text messages, adjusting the volume, or navigating with Google Maps, for example only by swiping or tapping on the jacket’s sleeve. The video above helps you understand more about the functions of Commuter x.

Commuter x supports Android 6.0.1 or newer and iOS 10 or newer. Features vary between iOS and Android and it requires a Google account, an internet connection and a cellular plan for calls and texts. It is also might not be compatible with some music services check for more info here
