Starthub Wageningen… Creating Entrepreneurial Mindsets Among University Students

2 years 6 months ago

Wageningen University and Research works constantly to create an entrepreneurial community. They founded Starthub, where students and young scientists are able to meet inspiring entrepreneurs, have access to experts and mentors and can meet the university’s industry partners.  Its student board works to set up events and act as the contact person for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Wageningen Starthub covers three different stages before the actual incubation of start-ups. The first stage includes a series of events such as thought-provoking webinars, showcasing success and failure stories and discussions about relevant topics.

The second stage is Ideation, where student teams can join a 5-week program to develop their start-up idea. The third stage is called Realization, a one-week full time boot camp to kick-start your company.

It provides students with many opportunities to build up their entrepreneurial minds like meeting experts, mentors and a broad network in the region to support them. It aims to involve all kinds of people to create this entrepreneurial culture to stimulate an entrepreneurial mindset. This will reflect in every aspect of the students’ lives; in searching for jobs that bear in mind people, profit, planet, in research projects that have a clear value creation pathway, etc.
