Egypt Takes Center Stage in the KENKEN International Genius Competition in Dubai

Egypt's leading role in developing the mental and mathematical skills of its students and their ability to compete on the global stage was demonstrated by the Egyptian delegation participating in the KENKEN International Genius Competition, hosted by Amity University in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of 15 Arab and international countries. The Egyptian participation was under the auspices of UCMAS Egypt, and the delegation included 43 contestants led by Dr. Magdy Ahmed Abdel-Hafez, Dr. Hanan Nabil, and Amira Abdel-Aziz.
The Strength of Egyptian Training Programs
The students delivered outstanding performances, reflecting the strength of Egyptian training programs and the advanced level of academies specializing in developing mental abilities. The Egyptian champions achieved record-breaking results across various levels of the competition. Student Moaz Mohamed Salama won the title of Champion of Champions, the highest title in the competition. Eight other students also achieved the title of Champion: Christopher Mina Ezzat, Ahmed Mohamed Tarek, Tamara Ahmed Abdelghaffar, Taim Saleh Saber, Tarek Mohamed Tarek, Kenan Mohamed Saleh, Yassin Mohamed Hamdy, and Rana Talaat Khairy.
Student Achievements
The achievements continued with five students securing first place: Aser Emad El-Din Mahmoud, Selim Mahmoud Abdelbaset, Adam Mahmoud Farouk, Yasmine Mostafa Magdy, and Yassin Mohamed Hamdy. Ten students also achieved second place: Ahmed Wael Ahmed, Nour Islam Salah El-Din, Anas Alaa Sedky, Aser Yousry Anwar, Mostafa Ali Ismail, Ahmed Karam Hamouda, Yassin Ali Mohamed, Mohamed Ahmed Abdelrazek, Hanin Tamer Bashir, and Yassin Mohamed Magdy. Nineteen students shared third place, including: Abdulrahman Mohamed Ahmed, Yamen Alaa Sedky, Mohamed Khaled Mohamed, Bema Emad Nasr, Mahmoud Ahmed Abdelhafez, Philopater Girgis Elia, Ahmed Karim Gaber, Athanasius Medhat Mahrous, Omar Abdelhamid Farag, Ricardo Hany Shokry, Fares Tarek Mansour, Mostafa Mohamed Eid, Karim Gamal Mahmoud, Farida Mohamed Mahmoud, Hana Karam Hamouda, Ziad Hamed Nagy, Shahd Ahmed Kamal, Yassin Hazem Saeed, and Aser Hany Mohamed.
KENKEN Competition
The KENKEN competition is one of the world's leading competitions specializing in developing mental abilities and mathematical skills. It was founded in Japan in 2004 by mathematics teacher Miyamoto and was later adopted by the American Association of Teachers of Mathematics as an annual competition that attracts students from various countries.
The competition aims to enhance arithmetic skills, logical and deductive reasoning, problem-solving skills, observation skills, and self-confidence. The outstanding performance of Egyptian students in this edition reflects the excellence of educational and training institutions in Egypt, and confirms the ability of the new generation to achieve honorable results in international competitions, thus enhancing Egypt’s presence on the map of global intellectual achievements.
