Meet the 10 Startups that Graduated from Flat 6 Labs Last Week
Ten Startups pitched their ideas in accelerator program Flat 6 Labs Cairo’s demo day on Monday 14 at Intercontinental hotel.
The entrepreneurs pitched their ideas and asked for investments in front of a big audience of investors with the presence of the minister of investment and international cooperation Sahar Nasr along with businessmen and media.
“We’re honored to be investing in Flat 6 labs and I am impressed and proud of all of the startups,” Nasr said in an endnote.
Flat 6 Labs launched its accelerator program last year with a fund worth EGP 100 million. Egypt Ventures, a company of the Egyptian ministry of investment and international cooperation pooled in EGP 10 million.
Here are the 10 startups:
1. 7aweshly App: an app that helps individuals commit to saving small amounts of cash by easily depositing them. 7aweshly allows individuals to track their money and use it to buy products with a discount. The app targets cash that is not deposited in banks.
2. Arza2: a platform and a community for workers to announce and search for jobs and training opportunities through a web application, Android, and soon on IOS.
3. Chefaa: an app that allows patients to scan their prescriptions, locate the nearest pharmacy, order medicine. The app reminds patients of their dosage time through a bot and short texts among other services.
4. Isagha: an online market for jewelers and to display daily prices of gold and silver and their updates in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
5. MedMisr: a digital third-party administrator that provides Medical Insurance companies with an innovative online paper-free solution with fraud controls
6. Mosawer: a website that connects photographers with clients all over MENA.
7. Tombeely: E-commerce platform that serves as an auto parts market.
8. Transpooler: an application that tracks school buses and provides tools to ensure parents and schools the safety and convenience of buses.
9. Wasel: transportation platform to connect travelers across governorates with professional drivers.
10. Weelo: an app that connects users to the nearest supermarket to order products and deliver them in less than 45 minutes.
