TIEC’s Incubator Start IT Welcomes Five New Startups on Its 24th Incubation Round

The Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) has added 5 new startups to its portfolio of more than 120 startups incubated as part of the Start IT incubation program. The startups will begin their incubation round next Month.

Some notable startups that have graduated from the program include Wuzzuf, Widebot, Mumm, Crowd Analyzer and Shezlong. These startups received one-year incubation benefits with an office at TIEC’s premises at Smart Village, 180,000 EGP with 0 equity, 6000 USD cloud services from Amazon and Google and endless mentorship and consultancy services.

1. Amwal

A platform where SMEs and financiers meet. By presenting their funding requirements on the platform, SMEs are able to find the appropriate finance.

The platform identifies the financial deficit in the business, then the financial product that fits the business’s needs. A full financial analysis of the company is made and Amwal creates and submits an application of the solution to the financial institution until the loan gets approved by them.

2. WANAS

An on-demand audio application focusing on Arabic content. It allows users to discover, engage and listen to curated audio drama, articles, news, and podcasts with guaranteed high quality. The app is currently accessible on Play Store for users to entertain themselves throughout long bus rides, breaks or while running errands.

3. SPOON

An on-demand "Ready upon Arrival" online food ordering app for the drive-thru, pickup, and dine-in restaurants. Hence customers can order food from any vendor, pay through the app, decide when they will arrive and receive it as a takeaway. This saves the customer’s time and makes all restaurants have their own virtual drive-thru.

4. ARM

ARM, a startup from Alexandria, is a solution device with features that assist the inspection and grading of fruits or vegetables automatically with high accuracy in real-time using Machine Vision technologies. The device reduces a significant amount of operational cost and preserves high levels of quality.

5. Watan Arts

This startup will be incubated in TIEC’s Assuit branch. Watan Arts is a mobile app and website that enables customers to customize any designs they want on different products (photo-boards, t-shirts, mobile case, etc.).

It allows customers to browse a lot of artworks from different independent designers around the world and choose the design they favor. Watan Arts then ships it to their home. On the other hand, designers will earn money when the customer chooses their design to be printed on the product they purchase.

START IT’s 25th round is currently open and ready for startups to register on TIEC’s website. The deadline for registration is November 9th, 2019.
