Kids Trade Stocks! EFG Hermes & KidZania Collaborate to Make Finance Fun

3 hours 50 min ago

EFG Hermes, in partnership with KidZania Cairo, has launched an innovative stock trading simulation for children. This partnership aims to enhance financial literacy among the younger generation by providing interactive and practical learning opportunities. The simulation uses a simplified version of the EFG Hermes ONE trading app, adapted for children, allowing them to engage in stock trading using KidZania's currency, KidZos.

EFG & KidZania Collaboration: EFG Hermes, a prominent MENA investment bank, and KidZania Cairo, an interactive educational city where children learn through realistic role play, are working together to make finance fun and educational. The initiative targets children aged 8 to 14, aiming to immerse them in a realistic stock market environment, which mirrors the dynamics of actual trading.

Objectives and Financial Literacy: The partnership is dedicated to fostering financial literacy through hands-on activities. Children will trade stocks at a new EFG Hermes branch within KidZania. The market features 35 companies, with stock prices fluctuating based on the companies' daily traffic and children's investment choices. This setup provides a platform for children to learn investment strategies and understand market dynamics through practical experience.

Comments from Leadership: Ahmed Ibrahim Habib, CEO of KidZania Cairo, emphasized the value of early financial education, stating that the partnership with EFG Hermes aims to fill the educational gap with fun and interactive methods. May El Gammal, Group Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at EFG Holding, highlighted the initiative's role in pioneering financial education, noting its significance in empowering children with crucial financial knowledge in an enjoyable and engaging way.

Significance of the Initiative: This initiative is particularly important because it introduces children to fundamental financial concepts and decision-making skills early in life. By leading this innovative and beneficial project, EFG Hermes not only sets a precedent in financial education for children but also contributes significantly to the development of a financially informed and capable future generation.
