imedical Wins El-Dokan E-commerce Startup Competition
Assuit based startup imedical won the EL-Dokan E-Commerce Startup Competition hosted at Riseup Summit. The startup competed with 4 other e-commerce startups and was the most promising startup voted by the attendees of the summit. The winning team received a free ecommerce software equivalent to $12,000.
imedical is currently incubated at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) at the Assuit branch. The startup is an e-commerce website that offers their customers a variety of the latest dental & medical supplies, and it connects dentists with suppliers and delivers the items purchased right to their users in Upper Egypt, Alexandria and Cairo. In addition, medical students have the privilege to order instantly medical supplies they need for their studies from different vendors with competitive prices.
The startup was founded by Ola Salah ElDin and Ahmed Magdy in September 2018. According to Salah Eldin, “we aim on growing and serving the whole MENA region and enhance the purchase experience of both medical students and practitioners”. Since its launch, the website offers more than 500 medical supplies serving more than 1000 customers.
