“Mac OS” Is The Next Version of “OS X”

In an act of unifying their operating system naming scheme, Apple is rebranding their OS X operating system to Mac OS. This is not the first time that Apple rebrands its Mac operating system.

At the beginning, they wanted to differentiate between the device and the software, but after releasing new platforms - TV OS, iOS, and Watch OS- OS X is an outdated version. And in order to make it easier for everyone, changing the software name will let them be on the same page when they talk about operating systems.
