Borg El Arab Innovation Cluster: Global Conference on IoT
Borg El Arab Innovation Cluster, which is a new initiative funded by ITIDA/TIEC, Launched the International Conference on IoT in Alexandria Global Conference on Internet of Things (GCIoT). The Conference took place at Borg Al-Arab Innovation Cluster on 14th of December 2017, under a “Smart Cities and Smart Logistics” theme with a spotlight on the currently occurring technological evolution that focuses on the development and deployment of “smart” technologies, operating principles, and policies.
The conference program included the finals of the Egypt IoT Challenge 2017, which is one of the activities supported by innovation cluster and funded by ITIDA as a nationwide program for senior university students, startups, small and medium businesses that have innovative ideas and solutions in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) and related fields. After an extensive assessment, the best proposals were selected for the conference, which included demonstrations of the developed prototypes of Smart Cities and Smart Logistics solutions that are contributing to how IoT can reshape the world and overcome the challenges we face.
The conference was held for three days (From 14 December to 17 December 2017) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Borg El-Arab Tech Park. Attendees from Arab countries included Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Morocco participated in a number of sessions and panels reflecting the growing interest in the future of Internet of things globally and regionally
