TIEC Calls for Applications for its Start IT Incubation Program

7 years 4 months ago

The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) announce the call for applications for its Start IT program. The incubation program has already begun and the deadline for applications is the 6th of August. The application process consists of three easy steps: 1. Accept the terms; 2. create an online account; 3. submit your business plan. Apply here to begin incubating your startup this October.

Start IT has a new entry process for the incubation program, now start-ups and entrepreneurs can apply for the incubation program any time of the year. Every three months TIEC will evaluate applications and will send a pitching invitation to prospective teams. Teams have to have a business plan, prototype and score 75% on the business plan and pitch to be considered.

TIEC’s incubation program has graduated many successful startups such as Raye7, which was awarded 2nd Best Mobile Startup globally. Winning teams will be incubated in one of TIEC’s incubation centers for a year and get up to 180,000 pounds of in-kind services.

The physical incubation package also consists of a working space with internet, hardware and software tools as well as technical support, business and marketing consulting and mentoring.

Ideas supported by TIEC’s incubation program have to be related to information and communications technology (ICT) that solve real market problems.

The ideas must be innovative and unique with distinct competitive edges. They should also have potential in large and growing markets. Most importantly, though, they must be entrepreneur-led; created and led by young entrepreneurs.
