Itida and CDTI launch "the Egyptian-Spanish Dialogue for Innovation in ICT"
The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) launched an event entitled "Egyptian-Spanish Dialogue for Innovation in Communications and Information Technology" on June 7 at the Smart Village Club.
The Joint Program targets companies and researchers in the fields of communications and information technology, and is part of the Ministry of Science and Creativity that promotes the development of technology and innovation in Spanish companies.
Both parties agreed to launch a joint call for research proposals, each of which aims to launch ambitious joint projects that are committed to high international standards in both Egyptian and Spanish institutions.
Potential projects will be funded by the Authority and the Centre, which are the executive entities of the Egyptian and Spanish sides respectively. The first call for proposals was open to joint research and development projects in all areas of information technology.
The call is for proposals for joint R&D projects in all areas of information technology, but the following areas are further taken into account:
Strategic areas: "Wireless and cybersecurity", "Integrated electronics and systems for ICT applications", "ICT for national security", "ICT for transport and communications", "ICT for health care", "ICT for development agriculture", "ICT for special needs", "ICT for education" and "ICT for energy".
Areas of technology trends: "Mobile applications and computing" and cloud computing "," Data and big data analytics "," Internet of things "," Game education "," Cognitive computing "," Smart machines "," Data chain "," Virtual reality "and" Built-in or augmented reality. "
The Information Technology Industry Development Authority will fund PDP product development projects and ARP advanced research projects for a period of up to two years.
