This award actively hunts for innovators who proved innovation excellence in serving certain need or desire through their patented innovation and considering commercial exploitation.

  • First place award is EGP100,000
  • Second place award is EGP 50,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The innovating individual or team has to be an Egyptian citizenship holder. 
  • The patent must be filed or granted within the past 5 years. 
  • The innovation must be ICT-based. 
  • The innovation must shows commercial exploitation. 
  • Underlying innovation and/or its individual/team cannot be part of an application for Startup of the Year Award 

Judging Criteria

  • Value: How it serves and meets a certain need or desire (30%)
  • Feasibility: The innovation has to be technically and functionally feasible and adaptable to be exploited in the market (40%)
  • Impact: Social and economic impact while proving sustainability (20%)
  • Achievement: Local and global awards and recognition ​(10%)

How to Apply

  1. Register on Egyptinnovate and validate your account.
  2. Login to Egyptinnovate and go to Egyptinnovate ICT Award.
  3. Download & fill in the Application Form then save it to your PC
  4. Prepare the following list of supporting document and compress them into one folder:
  • Your professional Biography and resume
  • Patent registration document
  • 90-180 second Optional video demonstrating your innovation, how it works, why it is different, how it is commercialized and why it deserves the award

5.  Apply to “Innovation of the year” Award
