Maker Hackathon Cairo

About:

Hackathon is the first competition for hardware in Egypt running for the second year in a row. In Maker Hackathon you'll be able to transform your idea into an actual product. Participants wil be provided with tools like laser cutters, Electronic boards (Arduino), and 3D printers. In addition to that, they will receive mentorship to overcome any problems that might face them en course. This year there will be sessions prior to the hackathon itself to teach entrepreneurs about ideation, innovation and business modelling and how to reach markets with your product and compete with others. Awards will be in the form of financial support offered by the online crowdfunding platform Zoomaal.com, along with direct financial support from sponsoring companies. Last chance to apply is January 17th 2016. 

Audience:

You should attend Maker Hackathon if you:

• Have an idea and a team to work with (Ready to go)
• Are an engineer and your teamlacks a certain speciality like marketing or sales, this is the place to find them.
• Are an expert in a specific field like industrial design or software but don't have an idea in mind and would like to join forces with people who do.

Objectives:

The event aims at enabling entrepreneurs to bring ideas to reality, whether they have an idea for a product or a skill they master and would like to help others pursue their projects.
