750 Thousand EGP & A Trip to France to 7 Winners of the “French Egyptian Startup Competition in Egypt”

In order to entice the relationship between Egypt and France; the Egyptian minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology; Dr. Amr Talaat, along with the governor of the Central Bank in Egypt; Mr. Tarek Ammer collaborated with the French Ambassador to Egypt; Mr. Stefan Roumtier to launch the first of its kind competition for rising startups in Egypt.
The competition called “France Supporting Innovation in Egypt Startup Competition” is  aiming at supporting rising startups to develop and lead the Digitalization era in Egypt, whereas be able to compete internationally. The Startups that have the potential to grow in the sectors of health, fin-Tech, and sustainable cities. The competition is not only initiated by the French Embassy, but also with 15 French companies in Egypt including AXA, Credit Agricole, Orange, Schneider Electric, Danone, Sanofi, and Valeo. 

 

Startup Competition led by France in Egypt is looking for early growth stage Egyptian startups who aim to lead the digital innovation and transformation in the following fields; Health, Fintech, Sustainable cities.

 

The Startup Competition Timeline:

Currently, application submission is open until 15th of January 2020, and then judges will start the assessment phase by late January until February 2020. They will select the ideas and teams who shall continue to receive training bootcamp by end of February. The Organizers of the training bootcamp are TIEC, Falak, Lat6labs, and EFGEV Fintech. Those partners will allow the participants with their great experience to succeed and continue in the next phases to make it to the final. The winners will be able to get the change to penetrate the worldwide market with the support of the French sponsoring companies.

In addition, Coup de Coeur is offering a very prestigious price to one of the finalist teams for 150 k EGP. Addition benefit for the seven final winners is winning a trip to France to attend the “Digital Challenge” conference for 1000 entrepreneurs in Africa. The startups will get the chance to showcase their projects in “The City of Solutions” exhibition for sustainable cities solutions that will be held by 4,5,6 June, 2020 in Bordu, France.
