RISEUP LAUNCHES PITCH BY THE PYRAMIDS, A REGIONAL, MULTI-STAGE PITCH COMPETITION

RiseUp launched applications for it’s first multi-stage, regional startup pitch competition, Pitch by the Pyramids. The competition launched qualifiers in 8 startup ecosystem hubs (cities) across the Middle East and North Africa, and will converge for the final event at the Great Pyramids of Giza, on the 8th of December, in alignment with RiseUp Summit 2019.

Applications are open for early-stage startups from Cairo, Beirut, Dubai, Tunis, Amman, Ramallah, Riyadh, and Baghdad to apply through the website www.riseup.co/pitchbythepyramids. Regional Partners from each of the startup ecosystem hubs in these countries will organize local qualifier events for selected startups to compete, selecting the best, most innovative 25 startups to proceed to the final event at the Pyramids.

The Pitch by the Pyramids program is not only a MENA-wide pitch competition for early-stage startups, but also a value-driven experience for participating entrepreneurs. Startups gain access to tailored webinars on business modeling, market intelligence, and growth planning. Finalist startups are also assigned a relevant expert mentor with experience in their industry to support their development throughout the competition leading up to the final event in Cairo.

At least 2 finalist startups from each qualifier will travel to Cairo, Egypt to attend RiseUp Summit 2019 and participate in the Pitch by the Pyramids final event at the Great Pyramids of Giza on the 8th of December. The finalists will pitch to an audience of thousands, including local and regional VCs and investors, as well as an extensive media presence that guarantees wide regional exposure for the startups.
