InfiniLink Raises $10M Seed Round Led by MediaTek to Enhance Optical Connectivity for AI Data Centers

1 week 1 day ago

Egypt-based semiconductor startup InfiniLink has secured $10 million in seed funding, with MediaTek leading the round, alongside Sukna Ventures, Egypt Ventures, and M Empires Angels.

InfiniLink is focused on developing advanced optical connectivity chips designed to meet the growing needs of AI-powered data centers, particularly in terms of bandwidth and energy efficiency. The company plans to use the new funding to accelerate product development and continue innovating in the realm of Analog Mixed Signal and Photonics technologies.

Waleed Alballaa, General Partner at Sukna Ventures, commented, “We’re excited to back InfiniLink and their cutting-edge optical technology. The team’s expertise directly addresses the energy challenges AI places on data centers.”

According to CEO and Co-founder Ahmed Aboul-Ella, the funding will also help the company scale globally and meet rising demand for next-gen data connectivity solutions in the AI sector.

This funding milestone comes as AI applications and data workloads push current connectivity infrastructures to their limits. InfiniLink’s proprietary iOTC (integrated Optical Transceiver Chip) technology offers low-power, high-bandwidth solutions through both pluggable modules and co-packaged optical engines (CPO) — aiming to redefine efficiency and performance in future data centers.
