Findo receives a $4 Million fund to solve the “Infobesity” problem

8 years 4 months ago

Findo is a startup that enables users to search by description and find any piece of information in their various folders and digital assets through an artificial intelligence-based search. The startup has just received a $4 million fund from Flint Capital and from angel investors at Silicon Valley.

The company claims that the funds will assist in solving the problem of infobesity through a new feature called Predictive Insights. This feature works as a reminder for forgotten tasks that the user received through email.

Findo is also setup to recognize tasks emailed from important people and is able to sort out specific tasks. For example, Findo can pick up an email with a phrase like “Finish the report by Sunday” and remind the user through Slack, Facebook Messenger or Skype that the email was not answered.

Probably the unique feature about Findo is the ability to search up using phrases such as “Find the presentation from someone from Boston I received 3 months ago”, or “Phone number of that guy I met in London”. This is known as ‘search by description’.

Findo, the smart search assistant, is available for iPhone and web users and will be available on other platforms in the next few months. The app allows users to search even the vaguest search terms across their personal clouds, Google Drives, Facebook, Dropbox and Outlook all from one spot. Soon, users will be able to search through images and audio files as well.
