Capgemini to Establish AI Center of Excellence in Egypt

Global business and technology transformation partner Capgemini today announced its strategic decision to establish a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence (CoE) in Egypt. This new hub will focus on accelerating the adoption of generative and agentic AI for Capgemini’s global clientele.
Through this investment in Egypt, Capgemini aims to foster research and development, collaborate closely with local academic institutions, and leverage key technology partnerships. The initiative is designed to expedite the large-scale integration of AI solutions for businesses worldwide, further solidifying Egypt's position as a strategic innovation hub for global organizations and reinforcing Capgemini’s leadership in the AI domain.
Capgemini's commitment to Egypt extends beyond this new AI hub. The company announced plans to double its workforce in the country by the end of 2025, bringing its team to approximately 1,200 highly skilled professionals in the fields of digital transformation and innovation.
The new AI Center of Excellence will house a diverse team of experts, including architects, data scientists, product engineers, and project managers. This team will be dedicated to delivering transformative AI projects across various business functions, from operations and design to engineering. Capgemini highlighted the benefits for clients, including time zone alignment, multi-lingual support, and the ease of travel to its conveniently located Global Delivery Center in Egypt.
Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini, speaking at the France-Egypt Investment Forum, emphasized the strategic importance of this new center. "The AI Center of Excellence in this strategic location allows us to support our clients in scaling AI within their own businesses, ensuring they remain at the forefront of innovation,” he said. “By investing in the region’s impressive talent and establishing this dedicated AI hub, we are not only fostering significant technological advancements but also creating a robust ecosystem for AI development. Our clients will benefit from enhanced service delivery, industry-specific solutions, and the unique advantages of being supported from Egypt."
Implementation of the AI hub is set to begin in May 2025. The center will leverage Capgemini’s deep industry-specific expertise to develop intelligent agents tailored for highly regulated sectors such as energy, life sciences, and aerospace. It will serve as a space for clients to explore, design, and implement cutting-edge technologies aimed at optimizing operations and strategically transforming their businesses, including supply chain and product innovation. By applying advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques, Capgemini aims to help clients across Europe, America, the Middle East, and Asia elevate customer experience as a strategic value driver.
Hossam Seifeldin, CEO of Capgemini in Egypt, expressed his enthusiasm for this development. “Egypt is experiencing an impressive growth trajectory, fueled by digitalization and exceptional talent in AI. I am excited to build on the strong foundation we have established in the region. Doubling our workforce and establishing this new AI Center of Excellence will not only drive cutting-edge innovation but also create valuable opportunities for local talent to thrive in a global arena.”
This strategic move by Capgemini underscores the growing recognition of Egypt as a key player in the global technology landscape and a promising hub for AI innovation. The investment is expected to create significant opportunities for local talent and further strengthen Egypt's position in the digital economy.
