1864 Accelerator - Fall 2016 Cycle

The MENA focused accelerator, Flat6Labs have launched 1864 fintech. accelerator in partnership with Barclays bank for startups in Egypt. Flat6Labs offers selected startups up to EGP150,000 (US$17,000) in funding. They also offer 14 weeks of mentorship, coaching and support.

The 1864 accelerator is considered the first local fin-tech. focused startup program of its kind in Egypt which aims to transform entrepreneurs' ideas into cost- effective business solutions.

1864 Accelerator are looking for startups who have ideas related to financial services, including payments,digital banking solutions, machine learning, trading data analytic, insurance, cyber security, asset management, data analytic, lending, banking relationships, etc.

To apply, fill the application form today until 7th of August. Afterwards, applicants will be filtered for the next stage followed by a local hackathon that will be organized and 1864's first cycle will be introduced.

Next, 60 to 80 of the best teams will be invited for a 30 to 60-minute interview 8 weeks before the cycle. Based on the results 20 to 25 teams will be selected to participate in a 5-day boot camp where teams will develop and test their ideas further.

After the boot camp, each team will present their idea in front of a selection committee of members from Barclays, Flat6Labs,and industry experts. The committee will select the final 10 teams who will be accepted into a 14-week program.

The winning startups will start with company registration and 1864's team will help the teams begin to operate as a fully-fledged incorporated business by helping them with signing term papers, company registration and after they are orientated, they can get access to mentors and begin training.
