Miniaturizing human bodily functions

Opportunity

Before introducing new medicine to the market companies usually go through a long list of testing to ensure the safety and effectiveness of their product. Animal testing is a very famous technique used and it is estimated that The United States only use 26 million animals annually used, let alone if it is morally accepted or not, humans bodies can react differently.  The question becomes how can we make these tests as effective as we can without getting to harm animals nor humans?

Solution

A new technology is being introduced now called ”Organs-on-chips” where hundred thousands of cells are collected on a chip in order to mimic the biological properties of an organ. That would allow us to test drugs on these chips first, get to simulate how would our body react, and act accordingly without harming anybody.
