18th Microcredit Summit

About:

The purpose of the Microcredit Summits organized by the Microcredit Summit Campaign is to encourage practitioners and other stakeholders to use microfinance as a means towards ending extreme poverty, especially within the region. It is the only global network linking all actors in the microfinance sector that sets and regularly measures progress toward bold goals for using microfinance to end poverty.

Audience:

The summit brings together microcredit practitioners, advocates, educational institutions, donor agencies, international financial institutions, non-governmental organizations and others involved with microcredit around the goal of alleviating world poverty through microfinance.

Objectives:

The Summit agenda will engage delegates in a thoughtful discussion around effective ways to reach the most vulnerable and marginalized and the microfinance services and financial inclusion strategies that promote inclusive, sustainable economic growth and social empowerment that helps improve their lives.
The 18th Microcredit Summit will be an opportunity for a wide range of stakeholders to promote best practices and engage in a thoughtful discussion around the challenges and opportunities in using microfinance as a tool that can contribute to ending extreme poverty. This summit will serve as a platform for innovations that use microfinance ind other financial services and products as tools that facilitate movement out of poverty.
