Launch of an Integrated Digital Platform for the Analysis of Universal Health Insurance

The General Authority for Universal Health Insurance, in cooperation with eHealth, the leading company in providing specialized digital solutions for operating and managing health insurance services, has announced the launch of a project for an integrated digital platform to consolidate and analyze the Authority’s revenues.

This strategic step aims to strengthen digital transformation efforts and enable the Authority to tighten governance over the revenue cycle from its various sources, in accordance with the provisions of the Universal Health Insurance System Law.

Financial Sustainability

This project comes within the framework of the Authority’s pivotal role as the body responsible for ensuring financial sustainability and enhancing the efficiency of financial resource management, in a way that supports the gradual expansion of the system and the achievement of universal health coverage across all governorates of the Republic.

Revenue Maximization

The platform will enable the Authority to accurately review and reconcile legally due revenues, helping to maximize revenues and improve collection efficiency. It will also provide precise and in-depth financial analyses that support decision-making and enhance the ability to plan for sustainable financing.

An Important Step

In this context, Ms. Mai Farid, Executive Director of the General Authority for Universal Health Insurance, stated that the launch of the platform represents an important step toward strengthening the governance of the Authority’s financial resources.

She emphasized that relying on advanced digital solutions contributes to improving revenue management efficiency and achieving the highest levels of transparency, ensuring the sustainability of funding for the universal health insurance system and the continued provision of high-quality healthcare services to citizens.

For his part, Mr. Akram Reda, CEO and Managing Director of eHealth, explained that the company is proud to support the Authority through this strategic project, which reinforces the principles of transparency and financial governance using the latest digital analytics technologies.

He added that the platform represents a new step toward building a more efficient and sustainable healthcare system that ensures the continued delivery of healthcare services to the Egyptian citizen in accordance with the highest quality standards.

Digital Transformation

This initiative comes as part of eHealth’s ongoing efforts to support the Egyptian state’s vision for digital transformation in the healthcare sector and to enhance integration among relevant entities in order to build a comprehensive and sustainable healthcare system that places the Egyptian citizen at the forefront of its priorities.

It is worth noting that eHealth is the digital arm of the General Authority for Universal Health Insurance in providing integrated technological services.

The company was established by Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2118 of 2021 to manage and operate the technological services of the universal health insurance system and to provide specialized digital solutions for the health insurance sector and the healthcare sector nationwide.
