Borg El Arab Technological University Signs MoU with “ICE Alex” to Support Entrepreneurship

As part of its efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships and support the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, Borg El Arab Technological University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICE Alex.
The signing ceremony took place at the university’s headquarters in New Borg El Arab City, in the presence of university leaders and a delegation from ICE Alex.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Morsi El-Gohary, President of Borg El Arab Technological University, and Dr. Eng. Ahmed Mahmoud Bastawy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ICE Alex, under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Amira Darwish, Executive Director of the University’s Entrepreneurship Club. The agreement aims to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Scientific and Technical Support
The MoU aims to foster collaboration between both parties in providing scientific and technical support to university students, organizing training programs and workshops in innovation, entrepreneurship, and human development, as well as exchanging expertise and technical knowledge.
The agreement also includes organizing scientific and training visits and strengthening connections with industrial, academic, and professional entities to support student-led and research-based projects.
Training and Employment Opportunities
The MoU further covers cooperation in protecting intellectual property rights related to joint projects, defining participation ratios, and leveraging ICE Alex’s extensive experience in training and qualifying entrepreneurs.
This collaboration will contribute to creating training and employment opportunities for university graduates in line with their academic specializations.
Delta Innovation Hackathon
On the sidelines of the MoU signing, the university honored the winning student teams of the Delta Innovation Hackathon, which was held as part of a training bootcamp at the university on November 30 and December 1, 2025, and continued online. The hackathon was organized in collaboration between ICE Alex and the Entrepreneurship Club, with support from Plan International.
The winning teams were:
- Ahmed Saber, Information Technology Department – Baganic Team, winner of EGP 75,000, supervised by Dr. Noha Bendok.
- Mohamed El-Sayed, Information Technology Department – Ed Virtual Team, winner of EGP 60,000, supervised by Dr. Osama El-Nahhas and Dr. Iman Shawky.
- Hammam Abdel Mohsen, Health Informatics Department – Medora Team, winner of EGP 35,000, supervised by Dr. Hussein Gad.

This collaboration reflects Borg El Arab Technological University’s commitment to building effective partnerships with leading institutions in innovation and entrepreneurship, enhancing the skills of its students and graduates, and supporting the state’s direction toward a knowledge-based economy and entrepreneurial growth.
