Sally Metwally Director of Ebni Business incubator

Biography:

Sally has a proven record of accomplishments of over twenty years in Products/Services development and Projects/Programs Management. The focus of her experience during the last 10 years has been in areas related to Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support.

Holds a Master in Management of Technology, Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP (Project Management professional), Post graduate certificate in Software Engineering, Software Sizing and Estimation expert certificate and has B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. She is an accredited Board Member by the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA). She received certification in Social Enterprise Management and Impact Investing by the Frontier Market Scouts Fellowship Program by Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California.

Currently, she is the director of Ebni Business incubator, the first hardware specialized business incubator in MENA region. She is also a Public Affairs Consultant for ITWORX Education supporting its flagship program “Re-Building Broken Dreams of Syrian Children” in Lebanon, Jourdan, and Turkey leading the International donors’ management. 

Education:

Before ITWORX Education and Ebni Incubator she was the Director of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Misr El Kheir Foundation responsible for nurturing the development and foster the commercialization of technology-based innovations that will lead to affordable access to quality goods and services creating livelihood opportunities for the Excluded population, primarily at the Bottom of the pyramid (BOP). 

Before Misr El Kheir Foundation, she was the acting CEO of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC). Participated in developing the Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship Strategy for Egypt 2011-2014, implemented programs that targeted enabling startup companies to establish operate and innovate in Egypt, enticing foreign and local ICT companies in Egypt to generate, enrich and expand innovative ideas and engaging the ecosystem of stakeholders in generating, financing, supporting and deploying ICT-related innovations.

Prior to (TIEC), she was the Manager of The Research and Innovation Support Department at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and was responsible for managing projects and on-going activities to develop the Innovation capabilities of the ICT companies.

Prior to (ITIDA), she was a Process Consultant at The Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) India, focused on establishing Process Improvement systems for a number of IT companies in Egypt.

Before Joining The Quality Assurance Institute India, she established the project management office(PMO) at HARF Corporation ; was responsible for providing leadership, organization, and coordination to support PMO’s key activities, encompassing program planning, governance and project management ensuring all projects administered by the PMO adhere to the best practices and standard.

Before HARF, Worked at the EDS- HP as a program manager, Her responsibilities were mainly to understand, manage, influence, and meet client expectations by developing internal agreements for contractual delivery of services, providing financial estimates for project costs, analyzing project measurement data, and finally managing people care for team members including all aspects of employment.
