Dawaya, a company specialized in healthcare digital transformation, announced the launch of Egypt’s first smart medical robot, branded “Dawaya X.” The announcement was made during the company’s first annual summit, attended by leaders from the technology, healthcare, insurance, and investment sectors. The launch marks a first-of-its-kind step in the Egyptian market.
A Transformational Leap
The launch comes as part of Dawaya’s strategy to drive a qualitative transformation in the healthcare ecosystem through artificial intelligence and advanced digital solutions.
The initiative aims to improve the quality of medical services, increase operational efficiency, and enhance the experience of both patients and physicians, in alignment with Egypt Vision 2030’s digital transformation goals.
An Integrated Platform
Dr. Ahmed Fazzara, Founder and CEO of Dawaya, stated that the smart robot was fully developed by Egyptian hands and functions as a comprehensive digital platform delivering intelligent medical services.
These include measuring key vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation. It also supports telemedicine services, enabling patients in remote areas to connect with doctors anywhere through an application linked simultaneously to both the robot and the physician.
Extensive Drug Database
He added that Dawaya X relies on a database of more than 40,000 medicines registered under the Egyptian drug code, including all available alternatives. The system analyzes doctor–patient dialogue data to generate a detailed medical report that includes a proposed diagnosis, suitable medications, and required tests.
Physicians then review the results and compare them with clinical examination findings before approving the final prescription, ensuring the highest levels of medical accuracy and safety.
A Comprehensive Digital Ecosystem
Fazzara noted that the robot is part of a broader digital ecosystem developed by Dawaya to connect hospitals, clinics, and laboratories with insurance and healthcare providers.
This ecosystem helps simplify procedures, accelerate workflows, and enhance transparency and efficiency across the healthcare sector. It also contributes to reducing human error, improving medical records management, and streamlining insurance claims processing.
Direct Patient Engagement
He explained that Dawaya’s solutions also include the “Dawaya Care” platform, which enables direct communication with doctors, appointment booking, medication and test follow-ups, and secure prescription management.
In addition, Dawaya offers an integrated system for managing resources and projects within medical institutions, covering attendance, task management, leave tracking, field performance, and sales monitoring, along with detailed analytical reports to support decision-making.
Technology Meets Medicine
Fazzara emphasized that integrating technology with medicine is no longer a luxury but a real necessity to improve healthcare quality and accessibility.
He stressed that Dawaya aims to transform traditional care into a fully digital experience that provides patients with convenience and precision, equips doctors with advanced analytical tools, and enables healthcare institutions to manage resources more effectively, ultimately delivering tangible impact on citizens’ lives.
