SNAILO MOON: Skincare Products from the Water Snail

The apple snail is a creature often overlooked. Students from the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture at Kafrelsheikh University utilized the snail completely. After studying all its properties, they found that its body contains type I collagen, which can be used to create skincare products, and it is free from any allergens for all skin types.

1. Using river snail collagen as an alternative to the expensive land snail collagen in skincare products.
2. Using the river snail’s shell in dental formulations due to its high calcium carbonate content.
3. Using the eggs as a source of silver nanoparticles, which act as antibacterial and antifungal agents.
