Problem Statement
Water pollution is a pressing problem facing some countries suffering from a shortage of usable water resources. Given Egypt's large fish farm population, which, like other water sources, is exposed to various types of environmental pollution resulting from the improper practices of those using these resources, this project offers a method for recycling fish farm water and removing toxins that affect the productivity of these farms, the health of the fish, and consequently, human health, thus leading to significant water savings.
Proposed Solution
The project is a system for synthesizing crystals that break down ammonia produced from fish waste, feed residues, and fish farm water, with the aim of improving water quality and fish immunity, and consequently increasing farm productivity.
This project aims to produce bacterial crystals by loading bacterial cells onto an environmentally friendly carrier material. This mixture acts as a biofilter that breaks down ammonia produced from fish waste and feed residues.
Benefits
Government and private fish farms
Technologies Used
The project presents an innovative method for synthesizing bacterial crystals that act as a biofilter, purifying fish farms of ammonia produced from fish waste and feed residues.
