Dubizzle acquires Egypt's online car marketplace Hatla2ee

Dubizzle Group, a prominent UAE-based online classifieds platform, has recently acquired Hatla2ee, a leading Egyptian online car marketplace. The acquisition, for which financial details were not disclosed, marks a significant expansion for Dubizzle Group in Egypt's automotive market.
Founded in 2005 by J.C. Butler and Sim Whatley, Dubizzle operates major classified platforms such as dubizzle, Bayut, and Drive Arabia. The addition of Hatla2ee, established in 2016 by Samy Swellam, further enhances Dubizzle's portfolio, offering an enriched, technology-driven car buying and selling experience to Egyptian consumers.
Hatla2ee has quickly risen to prominence with over 2 million monthly visitors to its platform, where users can trade new and used cars. This acquisition follows Dubizzle's May 2024 purchase of Drive Arabia, emphasizing its strategic focus on the automotive sector.
Haroon Rashid, CEO of Dubizzle Egypt, expressed excitement about the acquisition, noting that it complements Dubizzle's existing services in Egypt and leverages cutting-edge technology to provide comprehensive automotive services. Imran Ali Khan, CEO of Dubizzle Group, highlighted Egypt as a crucial market for future growth, citing the dynamic evolution of its automotive industry.
Samy Swellam, CEO of Hatla2ee, also welcomed the merger, anticipating new opportunities to enhance the platform and user experience with Dubizzle's advanced technology. This acquisition is set to redefine the automotive buying and selling landscape in Egypt, promising significant advancements in how Egyptians engage with the car market.
