Orange Egypt Closes The 4G deal with $484 million

Orange Egypt joins telecom Egypt path and becomes the country’s second 4G mobile-phone operator after signing a $484 million airwaves license on Thursday. Orange Egypt will pay half the amount owed in U.S. dollars and the other half in Egyptian pounds.

Although a month ago Orange, Vodafone, and Etisalat refused the deal due to the unclear vision of the deal, but once the National Telecom Regulatory Authority changed the terms, Orange has completed the deal. This deal will make an extra pressure on Vodafone and Etisalat as orange raised the bar competition in the market.


In Addition to this, Orange Egypt and Telecom Egypt will meet with the regulator on 23rd oct to discuss options as including an extra selling frequencies while offering the license in an international auction.
