Thndr Unveils Major Innovations and Secures $15.7 Million Funding
Thndr, Egypt's leading investment platform, recently hosted “A Bigger Story to Tell,” the country's first fintech product keynote. The event, attended by over 300 of its top users, served as a platform to announce significant milestones shaping the future of investing in the region.

$15.7 Million Series A Funding: Thndr officially announced the close of its latest funding round, bringing its total capital to $37.76 million. This round was led by Prosus, a global technology investor valued at over $100 billion, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst, JIMCO, BECO Capital, Raba, Y Combinator, and the endowment fund of a renowned engineering university.
ThndrX Launch: The "hero reveal" of ThndrX, a new professional-grade trading platform, was a major highlight. Built by traders for serious users, ThndrX offers advanced tools, enhanced speed, and a desktop-first experience. CEO Ahmad Hammouda emphasized that ThndrX is about "respecting the craft" and helping traders "win," marking a new era of precision, performance, and control for Thndr's trading community.
Asset Management License Application: Thndr announced its application for an asset management license. This move will enable the company to directly create and manage investment products, aiming to provide institutional-grade investing experiences that are accessible to everyone, not just high-net-worth individuals.
Thndr Alpha Introduction: The company launched Thndr Alpha, a guided investing feature designed to help everyday individuals confidently begin their investment journey. Powered by Rumble, Alpha offers a simple yet powerful flow, providing users with tailored starter packs of equities, gold, and fixed income. Hammouda described Alpha as "the foundation for something much bigger," with future phases planned to help users build comprehensive investment plans and personalized strategies.
Industry Insights and Future Vision
The event also featured a live panel discussion on the future of wealth building in the region, bringing together prominent investors and financial leaders. Onsi Sawiris commended Thndr's mission to make investing accessible to all, emphasizing the need for the entire ecosystem to expand and offer diverse financial services. Ali Mokhtar, CEO of Beltone VC, highlighted how more products on Thndr empower users to better manage their finances based on their income and risk appetite.

As CEO Ahmad Hammouda concluded, the funding represents a strong vote of confidence in Thndr's mission and momentum, enabling the company to scale product innovation and regional growth. He expressed pride in their current achievements and excitement for the future, stating that "Your story, and our story, is just getting started, and it's getting bigger."
