First Serious Gaming Hackathon In Egypt is Looking For Bright and Talented Developers

The Information Technology Institute (ITI), in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Social Innovation Egypt Design Thinkers, along with Yomken.com, are hosting the first event of its kind in Egypt: Serious Gaming Hackathon.

In the 3-day hackathon of non-stop creativity, participating teams are invited to unleash their talents through solving a mission. The mission is to develop an amusing and challenging game based on a manual to prepare blue-collars for the job market. The process will include a lot of fun, competition, innovation, renowned external jury, and a rewarding prize in the end. And the hackathon will take place from the 14th of September to the 16th of September at the Information Technology Institute in Smart Village.

To all the bright and talented developers out there, this is your chance to win funding for developing the game up to 40,000 EGP with many other prizes. You can apply as groups of 3-5 people or as individuals and team up during the hackathon. Your group should be able to produce a running application for Android systems (a prototype), in addition to, submitting a complete Game Design Document for your game to the jury.
