Big Data -Think Big & IBM- Recommendation engine

Big Data enthusiasts out there.

Together with IBM (Egypt), ThinkBig is co-organizing a BigData event in regards to "Recommendation Engines"; The event will take place at IBM venue in Pyramids Heights on Saturday 3rd of November from 12:00 pm till 3:30 pm.

IBM will introduce various components on their cloud, and how to use it in a BigData/DataScience context, and ThinkBIG will make a brief walk through recommendation engines and provide an example utilizing Apache Spark to build a Movie Recommender using ALS. We will explain different types of Recommendation Engines (collaborative filtering, content-based, context-based, ...etc.), different implementation and mathematical considerations, different types of data (implicit, explicit), and the difference between batch and real-time recommendation engines.
