Suplyd has successfully raised $2 million in a pre-Series A round to scale its digital procurement platform tailored for restaurants

Based in Cairo, the startup aims to go beyond basic distribution by developing full-stack infrastructure to support Egypt’s $10 billion HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering) supply chain.

The funding round was led by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC, with participation from Seedstars and existing backers.

Founded in 2022, Suplyd set out to resolve persistent inefficiencies in restaurant supply chains—such as unreliable vendors, delivery delays, and lack of visibility. Its platform enables direct procurement from suppliers, streamlining restaurant operations.

Following a $1.6 million pre-seed raise, the company has expanded rapidly—reporting nearly 20x growth and a current client base exceeding 5,000 restaurants nationwide.

“In just four years, Suplyd has become integral to Egypt’s restaurant sector,” said Gohar Said, Suplyd’s Founder and CEO. “Our journey from a bold vision to a platform powering thousands of kitchens daily has been remarkable. We didn’t just adapt to the sector’s digital shift—we helped lead it.”

The newly secured capital will be directed toward national expansion and the development of new service verticals, including backend operational tools for restaurants.

Through a single dashboard, restaurants can source everything from food ingredients to equipment, with access to features like real-time analytics, inventory control, and delivery tracking—ultimately reducing waste and operational costs.

Investors are bullish on the model.

“Suplyd’s platform addresses the underserved long tail of restaurants,” noted Peter Orth, Partner at 4DX Ventures. “Their early traction, strong supplier ties, and diversified revenue channels solidified our confidence.”

Hasan Haider, Founder and Managing Partner at Plus VC, added, “Suplyd is playing a pivotal role in modernizing Egypt’s F&B sector. Their strong performance is a testament to their strategic insight and execution.”

Far from just digitizing procurement, Suplyd is laying the operational foundation for how modern restaurants function—starting with supply chains and expanding into the core of kitchen operations.
