Dropbox Project Infinite will change Customers Perception on Cloud storage

8 years 1 week ago

Almost all cloud storage applications including Dropbox have an implementation problem in the way customers view their cloud storage on their local drive. To access your files you need to have it stored on your drive first which contradicts the idea of cloud storage, or you can just visit the website and navigate through your files separately which is not practical.

In their Open conference in London, Dropbox announced that this hectic process will change through Project Infinite. Project infinite is a new way to navigate and access your files. It will give the customers local access to their files anywhere they are (files) in the cloud, on network drives or local drives.

Which practically means that when you open Windows Explorer or OSX Finder and access all your Drop of files without storing them on your drive. The files will be labeled with a cloud icon and a green check mark on your hard drive which means they are backed up and still they are not taking much space of your drive.

Dropbox only previews the product at their conference however, they did not announce anything concerning the price or the launching, they only previewed the product.
