GBarena Secures Seed Funding from HIMangles

E-sports startup Game Battle Arena (GBarena) announced yesterday that it raised its first patch of seed investment from HIMangels, one of the leading angel investment funds in Africa and the Middle East. The exact size of the investment wasn’t revealed, but according to MENA Bytes, it’s a six-figure investment in USD.

GBarena was founded in 2015 and it’s a gaming community tailored for gamers, which helps them connect and challenge each other and allows them to join a set of local and global tournaments. Games on GBarena include PUBG, FIFA19, and Fortnite.

The platform automates the whole process of managing and creating tournaments from A-Z and connecting organizers with potential sponsors.

The startup was a University Startup World Cup finalist in 2015, where startups from all over the world compete at the Grand startup world cup finals in Copenhagen. The startup also graduated from Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center’s (TIEC) incubation program.

HIMangels invests in innovative startups in diverse fields such as waste management and manufacturing, and provides them with mentorship. HIMangels portfolio includes Fustany, Schezlong, and Rology.
